Abstract The interest in herbal medicine as a source of drug leads is being reinforced, especially for tackling challenging therapeutic areas such antimicrobial resistance, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Friedelin 3β-friedelinol are pentacyclic triterpenoids commonly distributed plants found edible fruits vegetables. More than 400 naturally occurring friedelane have been identified. its derivative reported to significant pharmacological potential, including antibacterial, anti-viral, cytotoxic properties. Friedelane could be considered promising candidates development against human coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2. natural sources examined, which include the families Celastraceae, Hippocrateaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Flacourtiaceae, Guttiferae. purpose this review summarize structural elucidation, physicochemical properties, spectroscopic data, origin, biosynthesis, quantification techniques, activities friedelin 3β-friedelinol. explores potential beneficial effects these bioactive triterpenes discusses ways enhance their significance.
